Exploring The World Of Handcrafted Furniture Construction

Hi there! The name is Nicky and I'm here to present the fascinating world of furniture construction to you. Modern furniture comes from a long line of handcrafted items that have recently fallen out of favor. I grew up in a quirky household where we created all of our own furniture by hand. I have fond memories of shaping wood on the lathe for table and couch legs before I could even ride a bike. Today I continue to create furniture using all of the skills I learned from my awesome parents. I would like to share the knowledge I've collected over the years with you to help expand this interesting hobby. My main goal is to see handmade furniture secure its place in the marketplace. I hope you learn all you need to know about techniques, tools and building materials to create signature pieces you'll love for lifetime.

Keep Your Tile Looking Lively And Clean With These Tips

Dingy tile or grout can give off the impression that a deep clean is needed in a household. Sadly, a number of property owners diligently clean the tiled areas of their homes, but the appearance of their tile remains unchanged. There are others who clean their tile incorrectly without realizing that their cleaning methods may cause them to eventually experience the less than aesthetically appealing "dingy tile nightmare." Use the following information to protect your tile or resurrect its appearance if it is dingy.

Mops and Cleaners

Some traditional style mops may trap dirt in their fiber. There are a number of mop options on the market now that offer cleaner solutions than traditional mops. These are designed to accommodate single-use pads or disposable pads. The single-use type of mop pads should be discarded after each mopping session. The other type should be discarded when the pad becomes heavily soiled. There are also washable mop heads that you could consider if you prefer an environmentally friendly option.

Cleaning Solutions

Some cleaning solutions leave behind a residual film on tile. This can result in the tile and grout trapping dirt. Over time, the layer of buildup may cause floors to look dirty regardless of how many times you mop. This may happen when there are layers of built up cleaning products that have adhered to floors, and professional floor stripping may be needed to remove the gunk. Sometimes cleaners may cause tile discolorations. Floor stripping may not correct discoloration damages.

Bleach is a tile cleaning solution that many property owners use without understanding that it is not ideal for all types of tile and grout. For example, using bleach on colored tile or grout may cause irreversible discoloration.

Best Practices

Aim to use gentle cleaners on tile surfaces. If have attempted to clean your tile and it still dirty or has a dingy appearance, you may be wondering whether or not it is better to replace the tile. In some cases, the appearance of tiled areas can be improved by regrouting. This is a budget-friendly alternative to tile replacement. You can eliminate scuff marks from shoes on your tile floors by ensuring that family members and guests remove their shoes prior to walking on tiled floors.

A professional tile cleaning company is the best resource to use to determine which types of cleaners are safe for the type of tile you have installed in your home. They can also assist with correcting tile and grout damages that are the result of inappropriate cleaning or aging.
